Regularly I geot the task of telling a patron that his credit card has been declined. It never fails that the customer believes I have the answer as to why the card has been rejected.
“Why was it declined? I have $1000’s worth of credit”…..
I don’t know why they declined to pay. Perhaps your wife has taken all your money and run away with it. Maybe the I.R.S. has frozen your account. Are you a drug dealer? I only ask because if you are, the D.E.A. could be the fault. It could be the fault of the F.B.I. if you threatened the president or if your hobbies include explosive ordinance construction. It is possible some computer geek has hacked your account and bought his mommy a new house. I really don’t know. I really don’t CARE! Stop asking me why just give me a different card and leave me alone. And next time you want to eat here feel free to stay home.
