The Holiday Spam.

The tables were clothed. Center pieces were centered. Mistletoe was hung. The guests had begun to arrive. It was to be the event of the year. The band was setting up. I had begun to take drink orders. It was to be a lavish Christmas party for some muckedy mucks. The evening was going quite well. The salads were beautiful. The soup simply divine. Everyone anxiously awaited the main course of lamb, sugared yams, asparagus, and mint jelly. The cook told me it was ready to serve. The yams were impeccable. The asparagus was perfect. The “lamb” had a golden brown glaze made from whole figs and raisins. It was garnished with an orange slice and a mint leaf. The plates were gorgeous. It wasn’t until the meal was over and people complained about their lamb being salty did I ask the cook what he put on the lamb. He said, Labum???? I soughted zee bosss saided spam.

It just goes to show that if you put enough garnish or sauces on it, it can hide a litany of sins. SPAM…..ewww, even I won’t eat spam and my nickname is garbage guts.

I Luuuuurrrrrvvvvvve Spam :) I was the only one in our school who looked forward to spam fritters, chips and mushy peas on the dinner menu. I thought it was yummy - it made my sister puke. So I like spam deepfried in batter, naked with chips and beans or with mayo in a sandwich. Ahhhh blissssss…

I don’t care what your profession is Jenny, no one should eat Spam.

Gypsy, you truly can’t be Garbage Guts until you’ve eaten Spam with a side of Scrapple, the other gray meat!

havingmycake, I like to eat naked with chips too, but I hate when the crumbs get stuck in my belly button. Never cook Spam naked.

I watched an episode of Unwrapped on Food TV, with the recycled Marc Summers from Double Dare fame, and it was all about SPAM. Ewwwwwwwwww! They showed how it was made. Not something I wanted to see!!
