This is my white trash vase. I think it’s nice. I put ten of them on e-bay to see just how well they would sell. I listed it as an “Authentic Venetian Vase”. Most of the bids were retracted. Apparently no one appreciates quality. It sparked interest from quite a few people. I don’t understand why I can’t sell these vases. You would think I was selling a can of air pollution or something. Perhaps these high quality vases are simply too posh for the average millionaire, and far and away too elegant for the hillbillies in the hayloft. However, you can see that this is an incredibly versatile and functional home decoration. Anyway, not only did I get hate mail, but my E-bay rating went down hill real quick. My item went to the E-bay hall of shame. I am slightly miffed. I don’t believe that my items deserved that shame. I feel that it is simply misunderstood. So I think I will keep them for myself. Besides, they go well with the newspaper I used for wallpaper, and the woven straw mats I have sewn together as carpet. I feel that it is better they stay where they can receive the proper Homage. The good thing is I have matching candle holders.

Yeah well, you were selling an authentic Viennese vase and you listed it as a Venetian one.
Love the blog by the way, just found you!

A work of art, too bad you are keeping them all to yourself.

Vienna is in Austria. Venice, whence comes “Venetian”, is in Italy. You are guilty of bait and switch…

Abbadon beat me to it. But I’ll add that both Vienna and Venice are in the Northeastern sections of their respective “Nations”.

I have a similar one crafted by the fine folks at Goya.
It’s marketed as “Spanish Layman Vase – pinto bean scented.”
